January 31, 1937
Bud was born January 31, 1937 in Hyannis, Nebraska to Forrest D and Georgia Bonifield. He joined 2 older sisters. He was raised on the family ranch south of Whitman, Nebraska and began working on the ranch at the age of 6 years old. As a small child he rode his horse 3 miles west of the home to attend a one room school. After grade school he attended high school in Hyannis and graduated from there. After high school he married Darlene Becker in 1956 and they managed the Bonifield ranch until 1985 when they purchased their own ranch south of Nenzel at the age of 84. Bud is an avid rancher and has a true passion for the life o animals. Often he would jeopardize his own life to save an animal in a winter blizzard. He is a true ranching cowboy.
Bud is an avid rancher and has dedicated his life to providing beef to our tables. He is a ranching cowboy as he has used horses on the ranch up until 4 years ago when his health would no longer allow it. He takes great pride in his ranching.
