Dan Dailey

December 6, 1955

Dan was born December 6, 1955 in Valentine, NE to Don and Beverly Dailey. He has three brothers Cliff, Lemoyne, and Alan. He graduated from Stapleton, NE and received his Associates Degree in Production Agriculture at the University of Nebraska School of Technical Agriculture. Dan worked for Howard Haythorn during high school and through college which gave him the opportunity to improve his horsemanship and roping. In 1977, he married Jo Clapper of Ainsworth, NE. They have 4 children-Danielle, Dirk, Dane and Dustin and 13 grandchildren.

Dan was a contestant in Mid-State and NSRA rodeos in team roping for several years. As his children got older and they competed in rodeos, Dan enjoyed providing horses and watching them compete through jr high, high school and college rodeo. He enjoys taking his grandkids to brandings, helping ranchers put cows out to pasture, and heat detecting while he AI’s. He likes taking his horses and working at the sale barn once a week and enjoys team roping in Arizona in the winter. 

Dan served as the High School Team Roping Director, Mid-States Team Roping Board of Directors, Mid-States Finals Judge, voted Mid-States Judge of the Year for several years, served on Ainsworth School Board and has served on the Long Pine Rural Fire Department for several years. Dan judged high school, mid-states and NSRA rodeos for 15 years.
