Wayne H. Plugge

November 5, 1942-November 28, 1984

Wayne was brought up in a rodeo family. He worked for Walt Plugge Rodeo Company and participated in some bull riding. He was a devoted family man and the summer before his death took his daughter Brandi and any other kids on the High School Rodeo circuit. Wayne was instrumental in starting the Taylor Junior Rodeo in 1974 and the arena is named after him.

Wayne was born November 5, 1942 at Spalding, Nebraska to Emil and Josephine Plugge. Sisters include: Martha Hoerle and Gladyse McConnell. Brothers include: Victor, Jesse, Bill and Roy. Wayne and his wife, Gloria, had three children: Brent Plugge, Brandi Johnson, and Bruce Plugge.

Wayne farmed and ranched west of Burwell and was a school bus driver. Wayne enjoyed his family and made sure they made it to very rodeo. Wayne had a rapport with children and helped many of them through the years.

Wayne died November 28, 1984, at the age of 42. Today he would have been very proud of his children and grandchildren.
