Arch was born on January 12, 1940 in Alberta, Canada where the family ranched until Arch was eight years old. They then moved to Wood Lake, to the ranch that Arch still lives on today. Arch graduated college from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1963 where he lettered in both football and wrestling. After graduation, he and his wife, Jackie, moved back to Wood Lake and continued ranching. He is known to many near and far as the “Horse Whisperer” and many in the audience may have seen his work earlier today. He enjoys putting on clinics and has shared the love of horses with his family through their rodeo careers at the high school, college and pro levels. Arch’s knowledge does not stop in the round pen, as he has also educated himself in equine chiropractics. A friend wrote, as per the definition of a cowboy, Arch would be the epitome of a true cowboy.
